The Collector Line features the highest quality woods, components, and craftsmanship. Each includes all-rhodium parts/fixtures, a genuine Swarovski crystal, black titanium decorative bands, and German-made Iridium nibs (fountain pens) or Schmidt Safety Ceramic Rollers (rollerballs). These pens are certain to impress even the most serious collectors of high-end pens.

With the coolest name, and possibly the coolest figure, Australian Coolibah puts most other wood species to shame. This burl variety sparkles an orange/brown color, with a rich assortment of curl waves, birdseyes, and color spots. The amazing color is completely natural, with no dyes or resins injected into the wood. This is a limited time offering due to the difficulty in acquiring Coolibah, so act now!

Semi-Gloss – The clear, semi-smooth, semi-gloss finish is the product of a laborious process of "dipping" into a water-based polyurethane. Unlike cyanoacrylate (gloss finish), the polyurethane "breathes" and allows for movement in the wood, thus preventing cracking. Because Australian Burl, such as Coolibah, is known for wood movement, I developed this proprietary finishing method especially for this wood.

Engraving Options

I’m proud to offer custom laser engraving as an option for every pen in the shop. Engraving costs an addition $5 per item, and may delay shipping by a single day.

Laser engraving involves burning an image or text into the wood body of the pen. This process produces a black engraving. Naturally, a black engraving appears differently on light versus dark colored woods. As a general rule, lighter woods produce more brilliant and contrasting engravings than darker ones. Red, orange, yellow, white and light brown woods all engrave very clearly. Purple, dark brown, and black woods tend not to produce clear engravings, therefore I usually discourage the purchase of engraving for such woods.
